Veterinarian, Owner Dr. DeVito is a 1986 graduate of Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Bayside, Queens, and moved to Garden City after high school. During college, Dr. DeVito worked as a veterinary assistant in this very hospital in which she now shares ownership. Dr. DeVito has served on the Executive Board of the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association and currently sits on the Board of the IACUC at Adelphi University. An avid birder, she helped establish the Garden City Bird Sanctuary in 1995. Dr. DeVito’s special veterinary interests includes small mammal medicine and geriatric issues. Dr. DeVito lives with her husband, son and their pets still in Garden City. She is very proud to be the mother of a First Responder (firefighter).

Veterinarian
Dr. Goldberg graduated veterinary school from Ross University and has been practicing in Queens and Long Island since graduation. She joined the West Hempstead staff full-time in 2005. Dr. Goldberg has special interests in dermatology and animal behavior. She also likes to indulge her interests in “Anime” and hand-made things at conventions and crafts fairs in the Metropolitan area. Dr. Goldberg lives in Queens with her husband and assorted pets.

Dr. Leigh Anne Reed was born in Brooklyn and attended St. John’s University in Queens to obtain her undergraduate degree in Biology. She graduated from Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, and completed an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. After 9 years of practicing medicine in hospitals in Red Bank, NJ and Manhattan, NY, she moved to Long Island, where she now lives with her husband, her children, and their pets.

Dr. Marion Conway-Bilello was born and raised on Long Island, and obtained her BS and MS degrees from Molloy College. She achieved her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian when she graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. During the years she has worked in animal hospitals in NJ, NY, VA, and Washington, DC , as her husband’s career shifted locales. Dr. Conway and her husband are the proud parents of a son who is an aerospace engineer and a daughter who is pursuing her degree in biomedical engineering. The family is rounded out by 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Office Manager
Sara is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and is the head technician and office manager at the West Hempstead Animal Hospital. She began working at this hospital while still in school, and thankfully has been here ever since! Sara not only takes care of our patients, but is a wife and mom as well.
Mike has been with us since 2018, but has been in the veterinary field for much longer, and is working toward his Veterinary Technician license. When he isn’t caring for our patients, he likes to spend time with his family and their many cats and dogs.

Cindy is one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. We are happy that she has been with us since 2016, and we greatly appreciate her skill and expertise.
Karen handles part of the evening reception duties at WHAH. She lives locally with her husband and their children (and pets!)

Liz is one of our veterinary assistants and helps out with reception as well! She is currently enrolled in veterinary school and we look forward to the day she becomes a DVM!
Ann is a veterinary assistant. She is dedicated to animal welfare, and is knowledgeable about wildlife and disaster preparedness.

Jasmine is one of our veterinary assistants. She’s been in the field for several years and graduated from Suffolk Community College with a degree in Veterinary science technology.

Kay is one of our veterinary assistants. She graduated from the veterinary science program at BOCES Barry Tech.
Andrea is one of our receptionists. She is married with two beautiful children and her puppy Ruffian who is the boss of the family! Andrea loves to cook, read a good book, listen to music, and spend a day at the beach.
Jailene does double duty as a receptionist and as a veterinary assistant in exams. She is bubbly and fun-loving and enjoys video games and anime. She is also the proud mama of 2 cats, 2 dogs, and a bird named Junior.
